SCBFCC - OUR ANNUAL CONFERENCE

Each year we host the SCBFCC (SC Black Farmers Coalition Conference). This dynamic gathering is designed to bring important information, technical assistance, farming skills workshops, on-site tours and other networking resources to new and established Black farmers across the state in order to build the capacity of their farms to be more profitable and sustainable across generations. Head on over to our events page to register and purchase tickets for this year's SCBFCC (current and new SCBFC members: take advantage of the 50% early bird special and renew your 2023 membership by February 4th! The conference discount will automatically apply once your membership is purchased). See below for speakers, workshop topics, and other details, including photos and testimonials from last year's event (this page will be updated throughout the month so check back regularly for more information).

Visiting St. Helena
Lodging, eating and recreation details.
SCBFCC23 will be held on the campus of Historic Penn Center, Inc. on St. Helena Island, a truly beautiful place to visit! In addition to some of the local farm sites on our conference agenda, you should make the most of your time by planning to visit the beaches, restaurants and museums that help make the Island one of the top destinations in the SC Lowcountry!
Lodging: We have a limited number lodging options available on the Penn Center campus (get your deluxe tickets early!), and we have also reserved a block of rooms at the Hilton Garden Inn Beaufort (use code SC Black Farmers).
Meals: Your conference ticket comes with catered lunch on Friday (breakfast and dinner are on your own), and breakfast, lunch and dinner on Saturday. The Farmer's Market will have food trucks on site for meal purchase, and we also recommend Gullah Grub or Seaside Bar and Grill (be sure to call ahead for reservations!).
Recreation: In addition to enjoying the peaceful and historic campus of the Penn Center, you can check out details for museums, beaches and other attractions here: Lybenson's Gallery & Gullah Geechee Welcome Center; Fort Freemont Historical Preserve and Land's End Beach; Discover Beaufort
